With so much content on Netflix it is easy for some titles to just get lost in the shuffle, and someone needs to start sorting this all out. Welcome to Netflix Top Picks, where we select items from Netflix you just have to add to your list.

Title: Friends From College
Type
: TV Series
Rating: TV-MA
Run Time: | (Entire Season 1)
Released: 2017
Directed By: Nicholas Stoller, Andrew Gurland
Starring: Keegan-Michael Key, Fred SavageCobie Smulders
Synopsis: A group of friends from Harvard are facing down their forties. With interwoven and oftentimes complicated relationships with one another.
Why you should watch: With a great cast with the likes of Keegan-Michael Key, Cobie Smulders and Fred Savage, you would think that a show like this would be a slam dunk in the comedy department. But honestly, it’s even better than you think it would be. From the first few minutes of the show, the awkward yet real life comedy and slice of life is evident and the show continues on that road for 8 episodes. What else would you expect from a group of college friends that have managed to stay close years after their graduation?
Title: To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
Type
: Movie
Rating: TV-14
Run Time: 1h 39m
Released: 2018
Directed By: Susan Johnson
Starring: Lana Condor, Noah Centineo, Janel Parrish, Anna Cathcart
Synopsis: When her secret love letters somehow get mailed to each of her five crushes, Lara Jean finds her quiet high school existence turned upside down.
Why you should watch: A high school romantic comedy… Really? There should be no reason why this is on the list. Somewhat generic storylines like middle sister who feels unnoticed, a former best friend who got popular and hates you, and single father after her mother died when she was younger. All done in other movies multiple times. What makes this movie stand out? The main character and the awkward realism that the story she brings the audience on. It’s definitely not the most amazing rom-com out, but it’s definitely a date night worthy movie.

Title: Next Gen
Type
: Movie
Rating: TV-PG
Run Time: 1h 45m
Released: 2018
Directed By: Kevin R. Adams, Joe Ksander
Starring: John Krasinski, Charlyne Yi, Jason Sudeikis, Michael Peña, David Cross
Synopsis: A friendship with a top-secret robot turns a lonely girl’s life into a thrilling adventure as they take on bullies, evil bots and a scheming madman.
Why you shouldn’t watch: No offense to this movie. I honestly do not hate this movie at all. Actually, it’s not bad one bit. The big issue with Next GEN is that while you are watching this movie, you will not be able to stop comparing this movie to Big Hero 6, and that movie came out years ago. There are a lot of similarities, which even includes the art style, which makes this movie hard to stand out from the shadows of Big Hero 6.
